The Korea Professional Golfers Association (KPGA) will hold a reward and punishment committee on Kim Joo-hyung (22) who damaged the locker room door after the competition ends. Kim decided not to attend and submit a written statement.
The KPGA Tour will hold a reward and punishment committee for Kim Joo-hyung at 2 p.m. at the KPGA Building in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.
Earlier, Kim Joo-hyung participated in the Genesis 메이저사이트 Championship co-hosted by the KPGA Tour and DP World Tour at Jack Nicklaus GC in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, on the 27th of last month, and after giving up the championship to Ahn Byung-hoon (33) after a close game of overtime, he damaged his closet door in the locker room and was at the center of controversy.
After the incident, Kim Joo-hyung said on his SNS, "I contacted the DP World Tour and the KPGA to apologize," but added, "I never intentionally damaged the locker room."
In addition, he once again expressed his apology through an interview with a broadcaster.
Afterwards, the KPGA decided to hold a reward and punishment committee meeting, judging that it is necessary to distinguish between right and wrong on the matter. Kim was notified of his attendance to give him a chance to explain himself.
However, Kim Joo-hyung left for the U.S. to handle the set schedule, and informed KPGA that it was difficult to attend the reward and punishment committee through a domestic agent.
Instead, Kim will submit a written statement of explanation. The KPGA plans to conduct deliberations based on Kim's statement of explanation.
